The penultimate week of action from the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues was packed with action and saw a number of re-arranged fixtures contested across the 1st and 2nd Divisions.

Significantly it saw defending top flight champions Lions A play twice and victories in each of these fixtures has seen them crowned as champions once again.

The Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues are moving into their final few weeks, however the fight for the top flight crown will continue until the very end.

The reason for this is due to the final encounter between the leading sides, namely Lions A and Whistlers A ending as a 5-5 stalemate this week.

The penultimate 4th round of fixtures from the top flight of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues came to a conclusion this week.

With just one more round of matches left to play this season, Lions A continue to head the table from Whistlers A by the slender margin of just 2 points.

Lions A maintained their 2 point advantage from Whistlers A at the top of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues this week.

The hotly anticipated top of the table clash between Lions A and Whistlers A did not fail to disappoint and resulted in a narrow 6-4 win for the defending champions, Lions A.

With both sides level on points prior to this penultimate meeting, the fixture was all set to be a nail biting affair, especially given the fact that a 5-5 stalemate was the outcome during the previous encounter, just before the Christmas and New Years break.

The hard fought battle for the top flight crown of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues continued this week, with another pair of victories for the leading sides, Lions A and Whistlers A.


The sides are due to meet in a pivotal top of the table on Wednesday evening and each set-up the clash nicely due to their respective wins.
