Team England at ITTF Polish Open today

Four England players are taking part in the ITTF Polish Open today.

Maria Tsaptsinos, Tin-Tin Ho, Kelly Sibley and Denise Payet will be playing in the qualifying rounds of the Women’s Singles, while Denise and Maria will also take part in the Under-21s competition.

Staged in the city of Spala, the 2018 ITTF Challenge Polish Open takes place from Tuesday 13th March to Saturday 17th March.

The following matches will take place today:

Under-21s Girls:

9.40 (CET) Denise Payet (ENG) vs Gabriela Dyszkiewicz (POL)

16:00 (CET) Maria Tsaptsinos (ENG) vs Aleksandra Michalak (POL)

Women’s Singles:

12:50 (CET) Maria Tsaptsinos (ENG) vs Kristyna Mikulcova (CZE)

12:50 (CET) Denise Payet (ENG) vs Valeria Shcherbatykh

19:10 (CET) Tin-Tin Ho (ENG) vs Rianne van Duin (NED)

19.10: (CET) Denise Payet (ENG) vs Farah Abdel-Aziz (EGY)

20:00 (CET) Kelly Sibley (ENG) vs Zuzanna Blazejewicz (POL)

The qualification events will continue tomorrow on Wednesday 14th March, with the following matches:

Under 21s:

09:40 (CET) Maria Tsaptsinos (ENG) vs Rebekka Carlsen (NOR)

Women’s Singles:

12:50 (CET) Maria Tsaptsinos (ENG) vs Daniela Ortega (CHI)

12:50 (CET) Tin-Tin Ho (ENG) vs Nataliya Sladkova (KAZ)

13:40 (CET) Kelly Sibley (ENG) vs Margo Degraef (BEL)

English players are also involved in the doubles events, in which the pre-rounds will take place tomorrow as well:

Women’s Doubles:

17:00 (CET) Kelly Sibley & Maria Tsaptsinos (ENG) vs Natalia Bajor & Paulina Knyszewska (POL)

17:00 (CET) Tin-Tin Ho & Denise Payet (ENG) vs Anna Wegrzyn & Katarzyna Wegrzyn (POL)

Tsaptsinos and Bolton made it through the women’s under-21 qualifying groups and will join Ho in the main draw. Jarvis was seeded straight through to the main draw in the men’s under-21s.

 

Tin-Tin Ho is also playing in the under-21s competition. Ranked 24 in the ITTF Under-21 Women’s Rankings, Tin-Tin was seeded straight through to the main draw. She will play her first game Thursday at 9.30(CET).
