Torbay Academy 1 stretched their lead at the top of the first division with a comprehensive 10-0 victory over NA Condors. Adam Shipway joined the Mitranescu father & son team, Toma & Alessandro, as the Academy side secured another whitewash win. Dave Wadling and Rod Sugden were unbeaten in the battle between the two Halwell sides, Halwell B beating Halwell A 9-1, Mick Mercer preventing the whitewash and grabbing the A side’s point.

In the second division a Ben Hoare maximum helped his Torbay Academy 2 side to an 8-2 victory over struggling Taverners. Mark Sharratt was on top form as Dawlish Aces narrowly defeated Brixham Trawlers 6-4. Another Rhys Lush maximum saw his Torre Titans team move into the runners up spot as they saw off the challenge from NA Owls with a 7-3 victory. NA Falcons were also 7-3 winners against club colleagues NA Raptors, Jim McIvor was unbeaten for the Falcons.

The third division leaders Torbay Academy 3 lost their first match of the season as the NA Hawks finally got their game together led by an impressive maximum from Jackie Whitehorn, the Academy going down 4-6. It was a similar score line for the Academy’s 4^th team as they lost out to bottom side Torre Tornadoes. Kevin Palin picked up a fine maximum for the Academy but a good all-round team performance from the Tornadoes saw them home. Another Rob Johnston maximum helped Torbay Academy 5 to a narrow 6-4 victory over NA Harriers.

NA Merlins’ 8-2 win over clubmates NA Kites keeps them ahead at the top of the fourth division, Jasem Abu Ali and Nick Kitchen were unbeaten for the Merlins. It’s seven wins out of seven for Dawlish Renegades but they had to fight hard for their last win. Trailing 4-3 to Torbay Academy 6 they recovered well winning the final three sets, Prabhu Kashap was unbeaten for the Dawlish outfit. Dawlish Doubtfuls picked up their first win of the season as they defeated fellow strugglers Torbay Academy 7. The 6-4 victory by the Doubtfuls was due to an excellent all-round team effort from Nick Pook, Stanley & Marc Grim. There was an excellent tussle between two Newton Abbot sides as the Ospreys narrowly defeated the Vultures, five of the sets went to a fifth game decider including the final doubles which the Ospreys won to edge the encounter 6-4. Ken Ramsden was unbeaten for the Ospreys.
