West B v Comets

Comets were up against a well-established second division team of West B with the talented newcomer, Mario Hadjinicola joining Dave Thompson and Kishore Sridharan. Colin Pritchard and Peter Whitfield were joined by Eagles regualar jack Pugh who put up a good performance coming within 2 or 3 points in most ends against the West team but couldn’t close out any. Mario was too strong for the Comets team and only dropped a couple of ends on his way to MVP. Both Dave and Kishore also took 2 games each only dropping matches against the obdurate display of Peter Whitfield who wore them both down to give Comets their only two victories. The pairing of Jack and Colin did well in the doubles but lost out to the power of Mario and Dave giving West an 8-2 victory.

Eagles v West C

A match between one of the most mature teams in the league and the youngest with the experienced West C represented by Jason Gargett, Mick Redfearn and Vic Austen against the youngsters of Becca Harrison, Luke Dumighan and Harry Veitch. The match included a guest appearance from Alan Whitwham for West in the doubles.

 All matches went to experienced West team but the all of the Eagles team put up a tremendous display with some really stunning drives from Becca, Luke and Harry which means the future is bright for the Sacriston team as they will get better and better, well done.
