Unionist A V Aces

Ian McAllister for Aces came out MVP with 3 singles win in this tight match against Unionist A. Jon Mawson also for Aces is improving his game as he took Mick Grimes to 5 ends before succumbing, but in a terrific dogged display, beat Dave Cutler in 4 in the final game, to draw the match 5-5. Both Duncan Fraser and Ian Stewart took a game each and Dave and Mick beat Ian and Duncan in the doubles.

Eagles v Lanchester

With a number of key absences, Eagles drafted in Guy Wong into their team for their game against a strong Lanchester team of Reuben Emery, John Raynor, and Neil Forster. Becca Harrison and Harry Veitch were the remainder of the team. It was a tough night for Eagles and particularly for Guy who struggled against some unforgiving and ruthless opposition. Becca had the only success when she played a tactically clever game against Neil Forster by not attacking too early and waiting for the right shot before going for her powerful drive. Result 9-1 to Lanchester

Redby B V Comets

Comets are really performing well in the 2nd division and competing well against very good opponents and this was another game where they came away with a battling result.

Redby had the excellent Firdaus Nazerie in great form as he took all his singles games. This gave him MVP. Dave Craddock also took 2 for Redby, and Howard won one, but for Comets Kevin Richardson took 2, and Colin Pritchard 1, and these two also took the doubles against Firdaus and Howard in a gruelling 5 ender. Haydn Williamson just moved up from the Eagles played well and was unlucky in his game against Howard Forster but will prove his worth with more experience. A good 4 points for Comets in a 6-4 defeat.
