Friendly Game between Chargers and Falcons

The opportunity was taken by Chargers to have a friendly with members of the club a s hey had a spare week in their fixtures, so Dennis Jennings, Barry Dingwall and Jack Pugh were up against another league player Paul Salkeld and newcomers Kevin Richardson and Kevin Wilson.

The first game between Dennis and Kevin Richardson was a real battle with Dennis cruising at 2-0 up in ends but Kevin came back strongly to take the next two 2 and set up a final deciding end which Dennis ran out as winner. Paul against Jack was a game between two of the most consistent players and rallies would go on for long periods, all games were close but Jack had the edge in final attacking drives and just took each end to win. Barry against Kevin Wilson was another close affair with Kevin shocking Barry with his backhand consistency and took the first end. Barry replied taking the next two but Kevin came back to take the fourth again leading to another 5 end game which Barry took by driving  Kev away from the board with his power. Kevin Richardson showed his improvement by taking his next two games with a no nonsense returning game. Paul beat Barry in a close game but these were the only successes for the Falcons who went down 7-3 to the Chargers.

Comets v Lanchester B 

Comets will be hoping to be in the promotion mix with their squad but were up against another promotion seeking team in the talented youngsters from Lanchester, Liam Ord, Adam Butler and Lyndsey Beacham. With Colin Pritchard missing Comets were able to bring in the attacking Debbie Irwin to partner her sister Nikki and Matt Greenwood. With both teams fielding aggressive attacking players the balls were zipping back and forth and rallies were quick and decisive. Liam for Lanchester remained unbeaten but was taken all the way by Nikki but with Nikki Debbie and Matt winning two each the final result was edged by Comets 6-4 .
