Morda Lions Vs Kinnerley Crusaders (4-6)

Morda Lions were in difficulties from the start with only being able to play 2 players, but started well by taking the first two matches. Kinnerley Crusaders then fought back to take the next singles, Mark Roberts & Iain Botley combined to take the doubles. A further win for Roberts & Iain Botley gave them two wins & they took the match 6-4, but on the night it was Morda's Jim Reeves finishing with 3 wins, and unbeaten, that gave Morda Lions 3 of their 4 points.

Caereinion A v Llansilin Drovers

Christopher Chennetier was deservedly player of the match finishing the season on a high winning all his games against the Drovers without dropping a set. The 7-3 win also secures Caereinion runners up spot in the league.

Kinnerley Crusaders Vs Llansilin B (9-1)

Another night where the result did not accurately reflect the evenings matches. All but one of Paul Sissons senior and Paul Sissons Junior's matches went the full distance, with Paul Sissons Junior beating Ian Botley in a hard fought 5 set match!

Shropshire Closed Championships 2019

A number of Oswestry players participated in the Shropshire Closed Championships last Sunday. Notable successes were Briony Rann who was runners up in the ladies event, loosing out to Kath Driscoll in the final. Brian Rainford and Huw Jones paired up for the doubles and despite being 10-8 up in the fifth set had to settle for runners up spot. Huw Jones also made the final of the singles event but lost out 3-1 in an exiting final against defender Stephen Horton.

Oswestry Senior Championships

Congratulations to Jason Hughes for winning the singles event in the Oswestry Championship last week. Jason took a 3-1 win in the final over Jeremy Chavez. A very enjoyable championship with an entry which far exceeded previous years was smoothly ran by Paul Johnson and the league appreciate his contribution and others who assisted him on the night.
