Upnor and Sturdee 1 couldn't be separated in this very tight encounter. Wayne Youngs and Ian Parkes both picked up braces, as did Shane Jarrett and Martin West for Upnor. Ian Parkes win over Peter Worthington was arguably the win of the night, coming back from the brink, two legs down to edge home 11,9  in the fifth. Wayne Youngs was also a fifth set winner, defeating Shane 11,4 at the death. Martin West also produced some excellent form, with a terrific three set victory over Wayne. Dave Bonner couldn't get on the scoresheet, although there were a couple of close four leggers
