IBIS clinch Division 1 Title

IBIS regained the Division 1 Championship in the Kendal & District Table Tennis League following a comfortable 25-10 win over Burton C. Chris Knowles defeated Peter Rushton and Steve Dixon but was outplayed by man of the match Harry Carter who won all 3 singles rubbers for the loss of just a single game.  IBIS finished 25 points ahead of runners up Burton A. At the bottom, Dallam A retained their place in Division 1 as a result of a fighting 20-17 defeat at Dalton, which was enough to send Natland B down to Division 2 with Burton B. Jake Haygarth topped the Division 1 averages with 92.5%, closely followed by Steve Dixon, Peter Baxendale and Roger Pimblett.

Crook B, who completed the season unbeaten, are Division 2 champions. Which of Natland C or D will be promoted with them awaits the outcome of the final match between Natland C and Grayrigg A. Mike Taylor was top of the Division 2 averages with 100%, with Phil Swift, Mick Taylor and Andrea Jorkisch not far behind. The season will finish with the Knock Out Cup Final presentation evening to be held in the Burton Memorial Hall at 7.00 on Wednesday, April 17th.
