Annual tournament 2017

Annual Closed Tournament

I am writing to remind you that the Annual KDTTL Closed Tournament will take place on Sunday, March 19th 2017, at the Dallam School Sports Centre. On the day, each event will be played through to the final and all finals will then take place the following Tuesday evening, March 21st , at IBIS Sports & Social Club, so please put both dates in your diary. A buffet will be provided at Finals Night, by way of a Jacobs Join.

As you will see from the enclosed entry form ( see link - https://www.tabletennis365.com/Kendal/Pages/AnnualTournament ), there is no limit to the number of events you can enter, which gives you the opportunity to play a lot of competitive table tennis in our excellent tournament venue at Dallam School. Please do not think that you should not enter unless you are one of the League’s top players. Most of the singles events will be played on a group basis and there is also a handicap singles event so you will get plenty of opportunity to play table tennis regardless of your standard. There is no charge for participating in this tournament.

I would also encourage juniors playing in Division 1-3 to enter. This tournament is for everybody, not just seniors. Not only can you enter your own band 1-3 event but also the junior singles, junior doubles, the handicap singles and the open doubles events, if you so wish.

I would also encourage female members of the League to enter. Again, you can play in your band singles competition as well as the Ladies singles and also the handicap singles, open doubles and mixed doubles, if you so wish.

Please note that completed entry forms much reach Mick Taylor by Monday, March 6th at the latest, so now is a good time to fill it in and put it in the post. Alternatively, you can scan it and email to micktaylor1502@yahoo.co.uk. Email is preferable.

I hope you will take this opportunity to enter and gain the benefit of some competitive table tennis. As you all know already, there is nothing like playing players of a similar or higher standard to improve your game.

Could those winners from last year who are in possession of trophies please ensure that these are returned to John Wood as soon as possible. We will need them to present on Finals Night.

I hope you enjoy the tournament.
