The association currently run 2 veterans’ teams in the Midland League. We play 6 matches a season, once a month from October to April, usually on a Sunday afternoon with 3 players to a team.  Some matches involve a fair amount of travelling, as far away as Cheltenham or Birmingham, but the Association pay travelling costs.  It is an opportunity to play against people that we don’t normally meet, and we always socialise over tea after the match.  If anyone is interested in putting a team in next season can they let me know.  We normally have 4 or 5 players in each squad, and the captain arranges venues and teas.  I act as Secretary for Derby.  At present our A team plays at Draycott, and the B team at Shardlow.
