More about the event

The ITTF Team World Cup is the second most prestigious event on the ITTF calendar, after the World Championships. The 2018 edition is being hosted by Table Tennis England at the iconic Copper Box Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from February 22-25, 2018.

The world’s best players, including the Chinese and Japanese men’s teams which finished above England at the 2016 World Team Championships, will be showing their skills at a venue dubbed the ‘Box That Rocks’ because of the atmosphere generated by spectators during the London Olympics and Paralympics.

England’s men have qualified by rights for the event by virtue of their bronze medal at the World Championships in 2016, while the women’s team will have a host-nation place.

A total of 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams will be competing. The rest of the field will comprise the six continental champions and the other top finishers at the 2016 World Championships.

Volunteers

Table Tennis England will be recruiting a team of volunteers for the event – details will be released in the next fortnight. In the meantime, if you are interested, please drop us a line at marketing@tabletennisengland.co.uk
