Match Report

SIBSEY EARLY FRONT RUNNERS!

Sibsey solidified their position at the top of the table with a 1-9 win away to Tetford with Dave Smith putting in a "player of the match" performance. Dave started proceedings by downing the dangerous Andy Foster, Dave taking the first two ends before Andy hit back in the third 11-5 before Dave closed out the match 7-11. He then followed that with a straight ends win over Mary Silverton before coming from a set down against Brian Todd to win the next three ends 7-11, 4-11, 7-11. Roger Hooton followed suit and was unlucky not to earn his first "player of the match", winning all of his singles and also only dropping two ends against Andy Foster and Brian Todd. Mick "Five End" Ellis was on target for actually getting through a match with out a five-ender, brushing aside Mary Silverton and Brian Todd in straight ends but then he ran into danger man Andy Foster! And sure enough, a five-ender it was! Mick was 1-2 up going into the fourth end and nearly had the game wrapped up but Andy took the fourth 13-11 before closing out the match 11-8 in the fifth for a deserved win. The doubles was a close affair between Ellis/Hooton and Silverton/Todd but it was the Sibsey duo who came out on top, winning in four to complete an excellent win.
