It was a long way to go for little reward when Graves Park Nomads travelled into the Lincolnshire Wolds to take on Tetford, with Tetford in no mood to give them any charity. Jon Newby was the player of the match, winning all three of his singles dropping just one end in the process against Eric Pitkovic. Andy Foster followed suit winning his three with Brian Todd earning another two points in his singles. Eric was Nomads best player on the night, earning his team's solitary point with a straight sets victory over Brian Todd. It was a tough introduction for new player Steve Sykes, who although didn't win any of his games, did take an end off Brian Todd and took Andy Foster to deuce in one game. I am sure that results will improve as he gets use to playing in the league. In the doubles, Andy and Jon took on Steve and Eric with the first two close ends being shared before the experience of Andy and Jon took the next two 11-6, 11-6 to earn their team a 9-1 victory on the night.
