Last week in the Premier Division Third placed Ramsbottom Town A hammered Wharton 27 – 1 with all players on obvious top points. Meanwhile top placed Ramsbottom Cricket Club took on Radcliffe Cricket Club winning 22 – 11 with nines from Hao Chih and Amirul Hussain. Third placed Flixton A won an inter-club match against their B team 23 – 9 with a nine from Jordan Potts. Hilton A had a 25 – 11 win over Heaton Cricket Club A helped by a nine from Mark Gibson. Little Lever Cricket Club A overcame Nomads A 18 – 14 despite a resisting nine from Fred Turban. Third from the bottom Ladybridge A took advantage to win over bottom team Coburg A 27 – 14 with all players on maximum points.

In Division One Burning Desire continued their push for a return to the Premier with a 25 – 4 win over mid table BRASS A with nines from Ben Armstrong and Dennis Collier. Second placed Acre Bottom also triumphed over Coburg B 20 – 14. Third placed Nomads B took on bottom of the table Meadow Ben A winning 27 – 5 with all players on top points. Mid-table clashes saw Wingates with a good win 19 – 11 over Farnworth SC A just above them helped by a nine from John Bradbury and Hilton B had a 22 – 13 win over Ramsbottom Town B with a nine from David Andrews. Third from the bottom Little Lever B had a 19 – 15 win over Hilton C just below them despite a resisting nine from Andrew Morey.

Division Two saw Heaton Cricket Club B maintain their push for Division One with a 22 – 7 win over a two man Hilton F. Hilton D look like joining them with a 23 – 12 win over Heaton Cricket Club C with Matthew Fishwick on top form. Third placed Meadow Ben B had an expected win over next to the bottom Boyzone 21 – 9 with a nine from Mike Heaton. A mid table clash saw Hilton E beat BRASS B just below them 22 – 13 with nines from Gary Hilton and John Barker. Fourth from the bottom Ladybridge B took on bottom team Top Spinners winning 27 – 4 with all players on top form.

Division Three’s Polonia Club move into second place having had a good 20 – 12 win over mid-table Meadow Ben C assisted by a nine from Stefan Jankowski. One point below them are St. Paul’s Peel who also had a 24 – 6 win over mid-table Hilton G with nines from Faizan Bhura and Champ Dillon. A mid table clash between Farnworth SC B and Walkden Methodists gave Farnworth a 23 – 8 win assisted by a nine from Bernd Dumpelnik.

With top of the table juniors Hilton I on an open week rival Division 4 teams had the opportunity to close that gap between them. However, second placed Hilton H suffered an unexpected very close loss against mid-table Meadow Ben D 19 – 18 with Neil Cowburn and Alan Weall scoring maximum points. Third placed Meadow Hill A took on juniors Hilton J winning 21 – 10 despite a resisting nine from rapidly improving Nathan Donaldson. However, Meadow Hill’s B team languishing at the bottom fell prey to a rampant Irlam Steel beating them 27 – 4 with all players on maximum points.
