Bolton News 5th April

RAMSBOTTOM A only had a two-man team for their Premier Division game against Little Lever A as they head seemingly inevitably towards a second-place finish. They still managed to win 5-4 with a treble from Andrew Jackson.

In contrast, Flixton A marched on in their title bid with a 7-2 win against Hilton A, Stephen Scowcroft providing the treble. The same score against Flixton CC B saw Nomads A beat Ramsbottom C with a treble from Charles Musa, and Radcliffe CC also won 7-2 against Flixton CC B with trebles by Robert Hall and James Chadwick. Burning Desire overcame Ladybridge A 6-3.

In Division One, there were 6-3 victories for Coburg A against Little Lever C – with a treble from Robert Bent, for Harper Brass A against SC A for whom Iain Lindley won three, and for Heaton CC A against Hilton B thanks to a Paul Ward treble. Nomads B beat Wingates 7-2 with a treble by John Aberra and a close encounter saw Little Lever CC B edge out Hilton D 5-4.

A well balanced Division Two had two 6-3 scores with Ladybridge B beating Hilton F with trebles from John Cole and John Birchall. Despite a treble from progressing Heaton C star Max Brooks, they lost to Meadow Ben A. There were two 5-4 scores with Ramsbottom D beating Heaton CC D despite a resisting treble from David Hall, and Hilton E overcame Harper Brass C with Gary Hilton trebling.

Three 7-2 scores in Division Three saw Polonia Club win against St Paul’s Peel A with a treble from Dawid Kakol. Meadow Ben B continue to triumph beating Irlam Steel helped by a treble from Ian Wheeldon, and top against bottom saw Boyzone beat Meadow Hill A with trebles from Jeremy Grimwood and Matthew Brown. Farnworth SC C fell to Heaton CC D 3-6 despite a treble by Bernard Dumpelnik. Two close encounters of 5-4 saw Hilton G beat Harper Brass D despite a treble from consistent Keane Mills and Bolton TTC outdid Walkden Methodists with a treble from Peter McCormick.

Division Four had two 5-4 scores with Albany overcoming Meadow Ben C despite a treble from Steven Robertson and Hilton H beat Harper Brass E in spite of a treble from Kaushik Makwana. Hilton I beat their J team 6-3 with a treble from Robert Shaw and Ladybridge C beat Heaton CC E by the same score despite a treble from Richard Lynch. Farnworth SC D dispatched St Paul’s Peel B 9-1 and White Eagle trounced Meadow Hill B 9-0.
