Graham Carlton

It is with great sadness that we have to report the news of the death of Graham Carlton. Graham played in the York League for Groves WMC in the mid-2000s. Here is a tribute from the Selby League, where he played most of his table tennis:

"Graham Carlton sadly passed away this week playing the game he loved. He joined the Selby League from the Midlands many years ago and made an impression on everyone who met him. We all knew him as a fierce, determined competitor. He was a qualified coach although that stopped some years ago. He was always trying to improve his game. He played in Veterans tournaments enjoying the challenge of competing all around the country. He was fun, he told some dreadful jokes, but that was Graham. He was very principled and if he felt he was right, it needed a miracle to change his mind. He joined SWMC this season to play in the league but had practiced on Friday lunchtime for a number of years and everyone really enjoyed his company. All players and teams within the Selby League would like to offer their sincere condolences to Graham's wife & family. We will ALL miss you Maddog."
