We have received the sad news of the recent death of Malcolm Huntington MBE.
Malcolm died on 26th April aged 82 after a short illness. A former York Press sports editor, he covered York City for 45 years and was awarded an MBE for his services to local journalism. He was four-times York singles tennis champion, and was a top tennis umpire, overseeing six Wimbledon finals and officiating at two Olympic Games.
Malcolm also had a keen interest in table tennis in York, covering the sport in the York Press and holding the post of Press Secretary from 1955 to 1970, after which he became a Vice President of The Association.
