A new season same old players…..
The Dragons travelling to the Great Pie Hub with a late change, they had to call in Mighty Melling for Pugwash who had come down with scurvy after the boat had docked. So the team Galeforce, Owdmon and young Jonathan Melling playing up as Mr C bowling and Tom the cabin boy (Adam) at a GCSE meeting (O levels to the readers of this garbage).
Chasers named Dennis Circus Master Vaudrey, Roy the Owd Master Bradbury and making his debut Dave Newton.
So off we go Vaudrey V Owdmon and it went to Owdmon 3 nil starting the season well with a new spanner.
Galeforce 2 up against The Owd Master and relaxing thinking it’s over…MISTAKE… Roy gets the backhand going and it’s two all but Garfin takes the last to claim victory.
The Newt V MM and Mighty Melling easily winning the first and up in the second, only to see The Newt come storming back to win a close match 3 -1.
Owdmon continued the fine form beating Roy in three to give the Leythers a 10 – 5 lead.
Vaudrey got Chasers back in it winning another close match 3 – 1 against Jonathan….this produce the shot of the night a great forehand return of serve from MM passing Circus Master like a crack of the Lion tamers whip. Doubles went to Dragons 3 nil to put the scores on the doors 14 – 8.
Galeforce beat Dave 3-0 and Mighty Melling beat Roy 3-1 in a cracker both hitting the ball all over the place not just on the table.
Owdmon just beat The Newt 3-0, closer than the score looks in an entertaining match and Galeforce capped a great night for Dragons beating Dennis 3-1.
News filtered through the bog door in Lee’s house ….where he had sat all day reading the latest edition of Shiver mi Timbers. With a loud cheer from the small room then a big bang and then a Oh..NO! ... Ang help… he’d fell off in full flow …what a mess!
