Captains Report on First Session of League Matches this year

Report from Club League Captain, Stuart Tofts

West Chilt A Team - Session 1 summary.

Our A team won Division 3 last year and so were promoted to Division 2 this season. It is fair to say that there is a big jump in the standard of players between the two divisions. We currently sit at the bottom of the division so the only way is up! One positive for us is that many of our games so far have been extremely close and have not fallen our way. I am confident that with a bit more experience in this division (and a bit of luck!) we can pull ourselves up from our current position.

We are also still in the handicap tournament cup competition and have our closing group match next week.

West Chilt B Team - Session 1 Summary

This is the first year that we have had a 'B' team and we are doing very well in Division 4 of the Worthing and District League. We are a quarter of the way through the season and currently West Chilt B are second in the division table and are still in the handicap cup tournament. Two of our players (well done Stuart and Jim) top the individual leader board in the division with 100% scores so far. The other two juniors, Jacob and Sam are gaining confidence and experience in each match and I am sure they will go from strength to strength as the season progresses. This is what the Chairman of Woodlands TT club wrote in an email to me after a recent match with our three juniors.

"..you have a nice bunch of lads there, so well behaved & of a very good standard. I'm sure they will be moving up the divisions in the future".
