On Sunday 18th June the Wembley and Harrow B team of Israel Awolaja (ranked 5) and Gaurav Aravind (ranked 6th), led by Steve Keyes, beat the W&H A team, consisting of Eren Gozcu, Murhad Hussain and Luke Shelbourn Frost led by Sue Merican, 4-1, the match was umpired by Ron Bryant. From left to right, Eren, Sue, Luke, Murhad, Ron, Gaurav, Steve and Israel.

The B team went on to play the number one seeds and holders Crawley & Horsham for the Carter Cup. In a very close battle the result was dependent on the doubles, with W&H 'B' holding a lead in both the first and second games, The highly rated pair of Josh Bennet and George Hazell were able to turn those games around enabling Josh Bennett to win his final singles and the cup for C &H.

Wembley and Harrow B therefore finished a very respectable second and the depleted A team finished 5th by beating Watford, whose players Sammy Kaye and Carl Briendel are also from our league.

Congratulations to all the above mentioned players for representing our league so excellently.

On the 17th June Mitchell Jones and Jeremy Banks also achieved 5th place, this time in the Wilmott Cup.
