After five rounds of the 2017 Summer League (out of 11), Lowlands A have a clear lead in the table. In fact, they have won 24 out of the 25 points on offer and will take a lot of stopping in the race for the title. They were pushed hard by reigning champions Kenton on Thursday, with four games going to five, but came out 4-1 winners thanks to Nigel Wong’s hat-trick. Father-and-son partnership of Radovan and Branislav Živkovic both have 100% records in singles and doubles for the leaders.
With Kenton A’s title defence faltering, other teams are emerging. Vagabonds A, for whom Men’s champion Mitchell Jones has played a couple of times, took over from IFSport in second place with a 4-1 win. Lowlands B are now up to third after they thumped Eastcote B 5-0, with Dilan Davda in top form.
Plenty of exciting action remains in the Summer League, which is due to conclude on Thursday 3 August. A reminder to players to turn up promptly to Whitefriars, as your matches must be completed by 10.00pm.
