WARWICKSHIRE OVER  60’S REPORT

Glynn, Taylor and St. Ledger all turned in fine unbeaten performances in singles and doubles in the victory against Cheshire 3 in a match a lot closer than the 8-2 margin suggests.

Having pulled off mission impossible last year to retain their County Premiership status, Warwickshire’s senior first team went into the new season knowing that Premiership survival would once again be priority as the top Counties in the country gathered at Cippenham Table Tennis Club in Slough, London.

The first weekend of County Championships Junior Division 1A was held last weekend at St Nicholas Leisure Centre, Warwick.

Nottinghamshire and reigning champions Leicestershire were the top two teams in the first weekend of this season’s County Championship Veterans’ Premier Division played at Ashford.

Both counties ended the weekend on a perfect record of three wins each.

Warwickshire's two Over 60's teams both performed creditably on the final day of County Championships Division 1A fixtures held at Halifax on 12th March.

Warwickshire Senior first team pulled off mission impossible at the County Premiership Championships last weekend following a number of spectacular individual performances and a team ethic that was sadly lacking in the first weekend back in December 2015.

Day 2 of the County Cadet Championships took place on 5th March at Cippenham Table Tennis Centre with Warwickshire taking on four opponents.

The Warwickshire championships was held over the last two Sundays and in this format finished well to schedule on both days.
