St. Ives II clinched the County Junior League title by the narrowest of margins last Friday evening. The Pickering brothers, Joe and Stephen defeated Telecom I 5-0 to pull level on points with Cambridge I, however they have won the league on the number of legs they have won and lost (see table).

The trophy was presented to the Pickering’s by County Chairman, Martyn Livermore, who also presented the runners up trophies to Karl Ingle and Dan Spencer of Cambridge I.

The next Junior event is a County Junior tournament for Under 14 and Under 17 players held at the Netherhall School Gym on Friday 5th May. It is hoped that Juniors from all over the County will enter. Contact Martyn Livermore (01487) 740453 for details.

The next session of the County Junior League will start in the Autumn.
