A team still on course

Thornbury A strengthened their position at the top of Stroud's Division One by steamrolling Pheonix B 10-0. An inspired Emily Standing, "playing some of her best table tennis ever" according to her teammates recorded a three straight victory over Liwu Wei who, at the start of the night, had an 87% win average in the league. Dave Reeves and Anthony Kent performed at their normal high level which means that Thornbury's first Stroud Division One league title is now within touching distance with 4 matches of the season remaining.

In Bristol Division One, Thornbury B drew against a spirited Fromeside C team for whom Simon Jago won all three of his singles matches. Julz Elsbury and Ian Maggs each recorded 2 singles wins before pairing up in the last match of the evening to secure the draw. Graham 'Grampy' Eden, whilst not reaching the heights of recent weeks, competed admirably in each of his singles matches but could not find the x factor to achieve a win. Onto the next one Grampy!!
