Volunteers sought for World Championships

If you have language skills and fancy being at the heart of the biggest table tennis event in the world, applications are now open to volunteer at the 2019 World Championships.

The event takes place in Budapest, Hungary, from April 21-28 next year and applications are being invited by the Hungarian TTA for stints of either six days (April 18-24) or five days (24-29), or for the duration of the event.

The applicants must have the following language skills: Japanese-English, Chinese-English or Korean-English, and be prepared to work long hours each day. Additional language or other skills may be an advantage during the selection process.

Volunteers will be assigned to visiting delegations according to their language skills and will be asked to work closely with them throughout the event.

Volunteers will be expected to pay for their own flights but the Hungarian federation will provide free accommodation and meals and the necessary uniform for the event.

The successful applicants will be contacted via email regarding transport arrangements from and to the airport.
