Tamworth Youth Club Wiff Waffs increased their lead at the top of division 1 this week with an 8 - 2 win against Netherseales. Jody Bevington and Jack Styring scored a maximum three points each, while Adrian Jones added one for the Wiff Waffs. Title contenders Wilnecote Raiders had their game cancelled. Tamworth Youth Club Wanderers had a 9 - 1 victory over Netherseal Cedar. Andrew Walker was the top Wanderer's player, with three wins. Brian Beer and Matt Satchwell won two games each. Curdworth Wheelers Pingers had a close fought match when they played Lichfield Kings & Queens away. the 6 - 4 scoreline was down to Pinger's Rob Rowson and Gary Nash winning two points each and the doubles match & Tony Stewart winning one. However it was Di St-Ledger for Lichfield who won all her three games.
Once again, in Division 2, all the matches were played. Division leaders Lichfield Jets had a 7 - 3 win over Curdworth Wheelers Pongers, The Jet's Gary Nash, Mark Balant and Harry Emberson all won two out of their three games but it was Chris Latham for The Pongers who beat all of them. Second place Netherseal Oak, had a narrow victory when they played Lichfield Knaves. Pete Jamieson secured three points for Netherseal, backed up by two points won by Brian Hagger and one from Mike Harker. Two -man team Hopwas A beat their stable mates Hopwas B, 7 - 3, due to Alistair & Martin Tallis winning all their games plus the doubles. Spital Daredevils won a close match against Tamworth Rugby Club Kings. Paul Bowler put in a great performance to win a hat-trick for Spital but Johnathan Pilling & Nigel Thompson fought back to take two games each for The Rugby Club.
In Division 3 Tamworth Rugby Club Oddballs increased their lead further with an 8 - 2 win over Spital Mondays. Once again it was Kevin who performed best on the night, beating all the oppossition in straight sets. Tamworth Youth Club Talentz beat Tamworth Youth club Lambs 7 - 3. Hayden Wootton was the Talentz top scorer with three wins, while James Shaw got two of the points for The Lambs. Mick Sherratt won a maximum three games for Netherseal Ash and this helped them claim a 6 - 4 win over Llichfield Rockets. Finally Lichfield Musketeers beat Kingsbury Cruisers 7 - 3. Alan Thorne and Paul Edwards shared the glory by both claiming three wins each as well as the doubles.
