Week Twelve 2012-13

After weeks of cancellations and cup matches we got back to relative normality in week 12 of the season.  In Division One, Tamworth Youth Club Retros beat Netherseales 8-2 in a hotly contested match.  Andy Jackson and Michael Bree were unbeaten for Retros, Andy Rose and Jason Hadley secured points against Carl Mountjoy for Netherseales.  TYC Wanderers beat Netherseal Cedar 6-4.  Andy Walker and Brian Beer both scored twice for the winning side, while Liz Merrick scored once.  Steve Farrington scored a brace for Cedar, while Charles Goodall and Gary Carr both supported with singles to reduce the deficit.  The score-line was equally close when Wilnecote Raiders met Curdworth Wheelers Pingers, with Wilnecote coming out on top with the 6-4 win.  The Raiders team of Ryan Birbeck, Andy Bache and Steve Atkinson all won two games, beaten by an impressive hat trick of games from Jack Williamson.  Lichfield Kings and Queens also won 6-4 when they met local rivals Lichfield Jets.  Cyril Merriman and Di St Ledger both scored twice, while Cameron Sykes emerged undefeated for Jets.

In Division Two, Kingsbury Tornadoes beat Lichfield Musketeers 10-0.  The Kingsbury team of Dave Morrell, Karl Oliver and Nigel Thompson were too strong for the young Lichfield side.  Spital Daredevils beat Hopwas Jokers 7-3. Alan Baker could not be beaten for Daredevils, while Claire Baker scored a brace.  The Jokers team of David Tucker, Bill Lakin and Colin Cartwright each scored a point, but it was not enough for the win.  Lichfield Knaves beat TYC Inbetweeners 9-1 with the Lichfield team of Gary Dawson, Dave Russell and Jack Gillespie unbeaten.  Only a good doubles performance from Sam Bernstein and Shaun Guest managed to retain a point for Inbetweeners.

In Division Three, Netherseal Ash beat Burntwood 8-2.  Graham Clarke and George Parry each scored trebles for Ash, while Ian Farmer scored a single, beaten by good performances from young Joanna and Alice Antoszkiewicz.  TYC Lambs beat TYC China Whites 9-1, in a game where unfortunately China Whites could only field two players.  Rob and James Shaw were unbeaten for Lambs, while Rich Elson lost one to Belinda Forster who scored the only point for China Whites.  Curdworth Wheelers Pongers beat Lichfield Barons 7-3.  Pete Bromley and Rich Grove won every game for Pongers, while Karl Turner, John Henson and Barbara Jones each won a game against Nick Bromley.  Rugby Oddballs comprehensively beat Kingsbury Cruisers 10-0, with the trio of Dave Storr, Keith Pratt and Kevin Wright proving too strong on the night.
