Division One

Andy Bache led the charge for high flying Wilnecote Raiders
in their 7-3 home win over Netherseal Cedar winning three with John and Ryan
Birbeck each scoring twice in week five of the Tamworth Table Tennis Division
One. Charles Goodall and Ian Perry scored once in reply and took the doubles in
three. Elsewhere Rugby Kings suffered a 10-0 mauling away to Netherseal. Jason
Hadley, Danny Sullivan and Andrew Rose were in devastating form for the home
side. Curdworth Pingers got back to winning ways with an 8-2 triumph over TYC
Wanderers. Rob Sheldon was maximum man for Pingers ably supported by Dawn Sagoo
and Tony Stewart who both notched up braces. 
Matt Satchwell played well for his two in response for Wanderers.
Kingsbury Tornadoes recorded their first win of the season with a narrow 6-4
victory over Lichfield Jets. Karl Oliver was star man for Tornadoes taking a
hat-trick and combined with Dave Morrell to win the doubles in three. Dave
Morrell added a further two. Jack Gillespie bagged a pair for the Jets with
Harry Emberson and Mark Balant adding a point-a-piece.

Division Two

In Division Two, Halloween week saw Jokers A coming unstuck
8-2 at home to Spital Darevevils. Alan Baker proved to be the nightmare for the
Jokers winning all his matches with Paul Bowler and Claire Baker helping out
with two each. Dave Tucker put up a fighting display in a bid to keep the
devils at bay with two to get points on the board for Jokers. Lichfield Knaves
retain second spot in the table courtesy of a narrow 6-4 win over Curdworth
Pongers in a close fought contest. Morgan Sykes was in fine form for the Knaves
with three, Neil Lehane added two and Dan Greathead a point. The Pongers points
came courtesy of two from Nick Matthews, a Richard Grove single and a Richard/
Ash Stokes doubles win in four. Elsewhere the Netherseal Oak trio of Brian
Hagger, Graham Kettle and Andy Pearce over-powered Lichfield Musketeers 10-0. A
Dave Storr double for Rugby Oddballs ensured the home side came away from their
contest with Jokers B with valuable points despite going down 8-2 to Jokers B.
Chris Latham was on the button with three for Jokers with Mick Fleetwood and
Colin Cartwright contributing braces.

Division Three

The top-of-the-table clash between Lichfield Barrons and
Netherseal Ash finished with the Barrons edging the contest 6-4. Barbara
Jones’s treble for Barons proved decisive. Peter Collins added a further two
for Barrons and Anand chipped in with a single. John Pope, George Perry, Graham
Clarke and George Parry each scored once for Ash and Graham and George combined
to win the doubles in five. TYC Lambs slaughtered the Spital Mondays 9-1 thanks
to maximums from Rob and James Shaw and two for Rich Elson. Ian Sketchley
pulled a point back for the Mondays. Kingsbury Cruisers beat Lichfield Rockets
8-2. The Rockets suffered from turning out a two-player team. John Howell and
Steve Gardner remained undefeated on the night for Cruisers and Isobel Morrell
notched up two singles points. Steve Thomas took a point for the Rockets and
won the doubles with Claire Sykes in four.
