Division One

Wilnecote Raiders produced a surprise result in week two of
the Tamworth Table Tennis League Division one thumping early leaders Curdworth
Wheelers Pingers 9-1. Steve Atkinson, Andy Bache and Ryan Birbeck all scored impressive
maximums. Tony Stuart and Dawn Sagoo prevented a whitewash by winning the
doubles in five. Elsewhere TYC Retros had a convincing 8-2 derby win over TYC
Wanderers. Michael Bree and Jody Bevington both proved unbeatable with a
hat-trick of wins and Ronnie Woolaston also bagged a point. Matt Satchwell and
Andy Walker each put a point on the board for the Wanderers. Another first
division match ending in an 8-2 score-line was Lichfield Jets vs Netherseal
Cedar. The Jets emerged the victors with Jack Gillespie and Gary Dawson both on
target with three. Gary went on to win the doubles with Harry Emberson in a
close run 11-9 triumph in the fifth. Gary Carr and Charles Goodall ensured
Cedar left the contest with points both scoring one. Netherseales notched up a
7-3 home win thanks to three from Andy Rose and doubles from Steve Smith and
Danny Sullivan. The Kings points came courtesy of singles from Di St. Ledger,
Varvara Meredith and a Di/Varvara doubles win in five. Rugby Kings narrowly
beat Kingsbury Tornadoes 6-4 courtesy of a fine Johnathan Pilling maximum, a
brace from Dean Snowden and a Johnathan/Dean doubles win. Dave Morrell played
well for Tornadoes with two and Alan Mcloughlin and Nigel Thompson contributed


Division 2

In Division Two Lichfield Knaves crushed Lichfield
Musketeers 10-0. Daniel Greathead, Morgan Sykes and Gerbo Huisman were simply
too good on the night winning all their matches. Hopwas Jokers A turned on the
style in their clash with Rugby Oddballs finishing the night with a 9-1 victory.
Alastair and Michael Tallis both hit three supported by Bill Lakin with two.
Dave Storr clawed a point back for the Oddballs. A Richard Howes treble helped
Jokers B beat Curdworth Pongers B in a hard fought contest 6-4. Colin
Cartwright added two to assist Richard and Michael Fleetwood claimed a singles
win.  Ash Stokes scored twice in reply
aided by a point from Rich Grove. Rich Grove combined with Nick Bromley for
Pongers fourth point.


Division 3

Lichfield Rockets secured a comfortable 8-2 victory over
Spital Mondays. Claire Sykes was on target winning all of her matches with Rebecca
Davies and Steven Thomas adding pairs. John Kinson and Sue Bates replied with a
point-a-piece. Two from James Shaw could not prevent his side TYC Lambs going
down 8-2 to TYC Futures. Zorro Kasarge was the top performer for Futures with
three. Sam Bernstein and Aimee Evans both scored twice. Steven Gardner and John
Howell maximums ensured Kingsbury Cruisers won their tussle with Lichfield Barons
7-3. Isobel Morrell added the seventh point for Cruisers. John Henson and
Barbara Jones secured a point each in reply with John winning the doubles with
Karl Turner in four.
