Sending in Results

Just a few pointers on filling in result sheets

Having reached the halfway stage of the season warnings have or should have been sent to almost every team in the League for one reason or another.  However it’s not all doom and gloom.  Most of the problems are caused by some of the following.  Wrong or no match number.  Filling this in right helps me greatly with my admin.  The match number can be found on the League Fixture chart which is on page 10 of your handbook.  The website says week number on the fixtures page.  This is not the same as match number.  I have asked the website designer to look at this confusion.  He will do so in the new year.

Almost everyone is copying Alex at the same time as sending results to me.  That’s why the press reports have been better this year because Alex has some information to use.

Not all results have the doubles pairing entered, usually by the away side.  It is still up to the home team to ensure everything is right, so a little bit more attention there would help.  Apart from one or two scores missing the other thing is the laxity in sending in results.  PLEASE, you must send me the result sheet, or a rearrangement sheet with the new date specified, within 72 hours of the original fixture date.  Remember that you are supposed to play these matches within 28 days (the three weeks at Christmas and new year do NOT count towards that timescale).

What I propose to do is wipe the slate clean as of the 31st December and every team starts afresh from the new year.  Because, at the end of the day, no-one wants to deduct points, but people do like the website to be kept up to date so please help me to make it so.
