Week Four 2012-13

Week four and the top teams are starting to move ahead of the pack.

In Division One, Sutton Coldfield Panthers beat Wilnecote Raiders 9-1.  Mick Browne, Alan Caffery and Andy Choi were all undefeated for Panthers, while Bache and Atkinson teamed up to recover a point in the doubles game for Raiders.  The team of Rob Rowson, Dawn Sagoo and Rob Sheldon were too strong for their opponents and Curdworth Wheelers Pingers ran out comprehensive winnrs over Netherseal Cedar 10-0.  Tamworth Youth Club Retros beat the Lichfield Kings and Queens 7-3.  Michael Bree and Andy Jackson were in sparkling form for Retros, while Varya Meredith, Cyril Merriman and Di St Ledger each scored a point against young David Bree.

In Division Two, Rugby Kings beat Lichfield Knaves 6-4.  Dean Snowden and Jonathan Pilling both won two games for Kings, while Ian Gould scored a single.  Gerbo Huisman and Gary Dawson scored twice for Knaves. A close match was had when Kingsbury Tornadoes met Spital Daredevils, resulting in a 5-5 draw.  Dave Morrell and Karl Oliver both scored doubles for Tornadoes, supported by a single from Alan McLoughlin.  Daredevils saw Claire and Alan Baker winning two out of three sets, and then combining to take the doubles.  Netherseal Oak beat TYC Inbetweeners 7-3.  Mike Harker and Brian Hagger won their games for Oak, while David Bree, Sam Bernstein and Shaun Guest each scored singles against Roger Whiting.

In Division Three, Rugby Oddballs beat Curdworth Wheelers Pongers 6-4.  Dave Storr won a hat-trick of games for Oddballs and Keith Pratt scored a brace.  Rob Bromley, Rich Grove and Pete Bromley each scored singles for Pongers.  Lichfield Barons beat Burntwood 10-0.  Carl Turner, Pete Collins and Anand Kaila secured the victory for Barons.  Joanna Antoszkiewicz went very close to winning her first match going down 9 in the fifth against Anand.  An 'excellent and very even match' was had when Kingsbury Crowns met TYC Lambs.  Crowns had Tom Haines undefeated, and John Lowe scored a brace.  For Lambs, James Shaw won two of his games, while Rich Elson and Rob Shaw scored singles.  Kingsbury Cruisers beat TYC China Whites 8-2.  Steve Gardener could not be beaten for Cruisers, while Issy Morrell and John Howell both won two games.  John Kinson scored a brace to retain two points for China Whites.
