Match Report

Last night Boldon knew they had the chance to bounce back to the top of Div 2 with a win. You may think the result of 10-0 demonstrated how easy the win was. On the contrary, this was one of the hardest games played by Boldon with Declan, Michael and Alan from West providing stiff opposition. The quality of the play from both sides was outstanding especially from West's most senior player Alan Whitwham. It was a pleasure to watch such an experienced player. Thank you Alan. William Walton

I thought it would never be reported that a pitman’s old son was the Player of the Match, but Alan Whitwham achieved in the match against East Boldon A, but my dream was dashed when James Booth, Michael Lindsay, and Freddie Wrintmore turned up to play, and turned my dream into a nightmare.

West CAC started the match when Chainsaw Kelly lost in 3 ends against James, then The Yorkshire Terrier took Freddie to 5 games before losing 11-7 in the last end. The great old white hope came to the table only to be defeated by Michael in 4 ends. West CAC only successes were when Chainsaw took an end off Freddie and Michael, then Alan took an end off Freddie, and was the only player ton take a game off James, this made me very proud, I had tears in my eyes.

Well played the  Boldon side getting 10 sets , and not so well played the West side, but fought for every point.

Player of the Match was James Booth, so well played James, and well played to Michael, and young Freddie, keep up the good work against our B team on December 18th.

Gan Canny,

Alan, the pitman’s son and nearly Player of the Match, Whitwham
