Match Report

West CAC travelled to the heights of West Durham to face the mighty Backspin C and came back disappointed again. I thought for a change of style that I will report a match from the middle where Magic Mick Redfearn and Chainsaw Kelly took on golden oldies Graham Burton and Robert Park, this was tight match with West pair taking the first 2 games , but old soldiers never give in and the Backspin Boys fought back to take 3rd end and were very unlucky to lose14-12 in the 4th end, so well played oldies a good effort.

Klaus Rupp played very well to win his 3 sets though Magic Mick pushed him all the way only to lose 13-11 in the end.  Luke Brown showed his class by winning all sets without dropping a game, well played Luke who was Man of the Match by a mile, well done.

What can I say about this golden oldie Graham who won his 3 sets and held his nerve when Chainsaw looked like winning, but Graham won 11-2 in the 5th end and his greatest achievement was to beat Alan Whitwham, so well done and if it wasn’t for Luke, he would be Man of the Match.

I think the high altitude and the thin air at that height took the toll on the West team who come from sea level and ran out of steam.

Gan Canny,

Alan, from the lowlands, Whitwham
