Down from the hills of West Durham Backspin B sent their female players and Alex Nichol to face a West CAC team that has lost every match this season but hold the press and the big news is that West and Backspin played out a draw. Michael Hepworth again won all his sets but not before he had hard matches from all the Backspin team, he started with 5 games against Alex and then went on against an impressive Shirley Robson and won in 4 ends. What can I say about Debbie Irwin she always gives everybody a good game and so it proved with the set against the Yorkshire Terrier where she took the set to 5 ends only to loose 11-8 in the last game which gave West the draw.

Shirley teamed up with young Chloe Irwin-Chambers against Alan Whitwham and Declan (Chainsaw) Kelly after taking the first 2 ends, Alan and Declan claimed the next 3, but I must say that the pair were very unlucky not to win. The big surprise of the night when Declan overcame Debbie and he pushed Alex all the way to 5 ends before losing 4-11 in the last end, and Howard Forster had a bad night when he lost all his sets, hard luck.

The two players who deserve a mention are Shirley who hit some great consistency with her backhands and forehands, so well played Shirley and to Declan who played some great rallies and had to play with Alan in the doubles and won,

Player of the match was of course Michael Hepworth winning all his matches, so well played that man.
