My wife always makes me write a letter to Santa but I’m 76, which is a bit to old to believe that there is such a person, but every year as a loving husband I duly write the letter to him. This year I asked Santa to help me to beat Brian Bateman and after last night I now believe there is a Santa because he saw his way to guide me to a victory with me winning 11-7 in the 5^th end.

On this night of shocks West CAC drew the Nomads with Michael Hepworth overcoming Brian and Stuart Anderson, Alan also beat Stuart who himself defeated Jason Gargett in 4 ends, Jason and Alan conquered Joe Perrin and Stuart in 3 ends in the doubles.

Michael won the first 2 ends against Joe but could not close the game out and Joe came out on to 11-7 in the 5^th end and Brian played the last set against Jason and won to earn a draw for the Nomads.

It was a good match and no matter what the result is it’s always a pleasure for us to play them and the Player of the Match went to Joe Perrin who won his 3 singles, so well played Joe.
