week 17

Division 1:

Forest Green A won the battle between the top two sides beating the visiting Woodchester A 7-3 to take an eleven point lead in the division. Dave Harvey was man of the match with a maximum score. Woodchester B move up into third place after a comfortable 8-2 victory over the visiting Frampton B with Tony Clarkson unbeaten in singles. Andy Cox scored a max for Yate which helped his team to a 6-4 win over the visiting Cirencester.

Division 2:

Thornbury B are the current leaders of the division despite being held to a five all draw at Cam & Dursley A, Harry Prescott was unbeatable in singles for the home side on the night. Randwick A beat the vising Phoenix D 7-3 to hold onto second spot although no one player was able to dominate. Phoenix C could not contain Frampton C’s Dave Pearce, who scored a max, losing 3-7 to the visitors. Woodchester C suffered a 2-8 loss at home to Forest Green B with maximums from the visitors Craig Smart and John Crowther.

Division 3:

Dave Pugh scored a max for Nailsworth A when they beat the visiting Whiteshill C 7-3 keeping them at the top of the division. Randwick C came away from Phoenix F with a 9-1 victory keeping them in second position thanks to maximum scores from Adham Hatem and Lincoln Green. Thornbury C are close behind in third position after a Steve Biles maximum helped his side to a 7-3 victory over the visiting Randwick B. Forest Green C slumped to a 2-8 home defeat to Woodchester D for whom Pat Pumphrey scored a maximum. Phoenix E beat the visiting Randwick D 6-4 although it was the visitors William Snell who top scored with a max.

Division 4:

Congratulations to Cam & Dursley B who clinched the division title while beating their C team club mates 9-1 thanks to max scores from Tony Averis and Harry Hogan. Phoenix G convincingly beat the visiting Thornbury D 10-0 to consolidate their second position thanks to the unbeaten Fadi Dahdouh, Chris Hampton and Sacha Curzon. Nailsworth B’s Alun and Mark Davies were both unbeaten when they beat their C team club mates 6-4. Phoenix I lost 2-8 at home to Forest Green D with Fritz Curzon and Neville Nelder unbeaten for the visitors.
