Woodchester A stay at the top of the division despite losing 6-4 at Phoenix A, the home side were led from the front by man of the match Dave Hadley who scored a maximum. Frampton A are in second place after drawing five all at home to Woodchester B, Abu scored a max for the home side and finished as man of the match. Forest Green A had a convincing 6-4 victory at Frampton A with both Dave Harvey and David Adamson scoring maximums to keep them in third position. At the other end of the division, Phoenix B did their survival hopes no harm when they beat the visiting Frampton B 6-4 with Liwu Wei scoring 3 points for the home side.
There are only eight points separating the top six teams in the division and Thornbury B hold onto top spot despite losing for the second week on the trot, this time at Forest Green B. All the home team contributed points in a 6-4 victory but it was the visitors Mark Attwood whose maximum gave him the man of the match performance. Randwick A are in second place after a comfortable 7-3 home victory over third placed Phoenix C, George Evans and Tirian Jakes each recorded maximums. Phoenix D came back from two nil down to beat the visiting Frampton C 7-3 with a maximum and man of the match performance from Jon Ramsbotham. It was advantage Cam & Dursley A at the other end of the division when they beat their Woodchester C hosts 6-4 with Harry Prescott scoring a max for the visitors.
Thornbury C move into top position after beating the visiting Phoenix E 6-4, Steve Biles was unbeaten for the home side and finished as man of the match. Woodchester D entertained Randwick C and it was the visitors who left with a 6-4 victory which moves them into second place thanks to a max from Akira Roe. Forest Green C could only field two players and subsequently lost 3-7 at home to Phoenix F, Meg Willsher gave an unbeaten performance for the visitors.
The week was nearly a complete whitewash! It started on Tuesday at Stinchcombe where Cam & Dursley B beat the visiting Thornbury D 10-0, the home team’s players were Tony Averis, Harry Hogan and Paul Stewart. At the same venue on the other table Phoenix G were beating Cam & Dursley C 10-0, playing for the Phoenix club were Sacha Curzon, Rob Arthur and Fadi Dahdouh. It is not by chance that Cam B head the division and Phoenix G are second. Glan Watkins, Brian Cullis and Len Agg were unbeaten as they beat the weakened two players representing Phoenix I by ten points to zero. The run of whitewashes was halted when Forest Green D took a point off Phoenix H on Friday. Fred Donald and Ed Loader both scored maximums for the home Phoenix H side as they ran out 9-1 winners.
