week 20

Division 1:

Although not playing this week Forest Green A have an unassailable lead at the top of the division and are crowned champions of division one. Reining champions, Thornbury A, have been making a late push for a higher position and came away from Frampton B with Len Vowles scoring a max in an 8-2 win. Clive Ellison returned a max which inspired Woodchester B to an 8-2 victory against the visiting Yate. Phoenix B finished their season with an 8-2 win at the expense of their Cirencester hosts, Liwu Wei was unbeaten to finish as man of the match.

Division 2:

Thornbury B entertained Randwick A to determine who were going to be champions of division 2. It was the visitors who came away with the title after winning the match 7-3 thanks to a man of the match performance from Tirian Jakes who scored a maximum. Both sides finished on a total of 114 points but Randwick A are champions having won more matches during the season. No one player could dominate the match between Frampton C and Cam & Dursley A with Frampton winning 6-4. Whiteshill B went down at home 7-3 to Phoenix D with both Jon Ramsbotham and Sam McIvor unbeaten for the visitors ensuring Phoenix finished in third place. In their second match of the week Frampton C beat the visiting Woodchester C 7-3 with both Dave Metcalfe and Dave Pearce scoring maximums. 

Division 3:

Another close fought title challenge went to the last week of the season and congratulations go to Randwick C are champions having won the title by one point to runners up Nailsworth A. Randwick clinched the title on the last day of the season when they beat the visiting Thornbury C 7-3. William Snell was man of the match for the home side as he scored a max. Nailsworth A had a convincing win, coming away from Phoenix F with a 9-1 victory thanks to maximum scores from Dave Pugh and Alan Welsh. The Randwick D team of Tom Docherty, Daniel Lloyd-Birchall and William Snell whitewashed their Forest Green C opponents. Barry Jordan scored a hat trick for Whiteshill C which helped them beat the visiting Woodchester D 6-4.

Division 4:

The top two in this division was decided many weeks ago. Cam & Dursley B are champions and finished as unbeaten winners, Phoenix G finished as clear runners up. Neither team had to play in the last week of the season. Nailsworth C beat the two players from Phoenix H 8-2 with Lily Power going unbeaten in singles for the hosts. Thornbury D lost 2-8 at home to Frampton D for whom Brian Cullis top scored with a maximum. Forest Green D entertained Cam & Dursley C and lost 4-6 as Bev Browning was on good form for the visitors, scoring a max. A re arranged match between Nailsworth C and Cam & Dursley C ended with a victory for the visitors although Dave Watson finished as man of the match with max score for the hosts.
