Littleton booked their place in the semi finals of the knockout cup with victory at Shottery B. Alex Gretton provided the backbone to their success by accumulating 122 points over the course of his six games which, with the handicap, ensured a personal contribution of 187. His father Andrew contributed solid support with a final tally of 181 while Derek Close added 164 as their team finished on 532.
The hosts were represented by Dave Milton, Tony Remes and Tim Fell who each made near equal contributions to their 464 but it wasn't enough and still left them 68 points short of their target.
Littleton made two changes for their subsequent league clash at Henley A bringing in Tony Spinks and giving a debut to former Ilmington player Charlie Loh. It was Loh who took the eye with a brace, and he must have had realistic hopes of a perfect evening after taking the first two games against Mike Evetts. However the Henley stalwart then turned on the style to take their encounter to a successful decider. Evetts notched a treble with Geoff Shephard adding two wins and Peter Quince their other singles. Gretton also got on the card for the visitors but they still went home on the wrong end of a 7 - 3 scoreline.
Graham Poole made a return to competitive action for Shottery A when they travelled to Ashorne. It was as if he had never been away as he marked the occasion with a faultless performance which was emulated by his team mates Gary Stewart and John Price. The only game dropped by the league leaders was in the doubles but that proved to be only a minor blip as they went on to complete the whitewash.
In their next fixture Shottery A further distanced themselves from the pack with another shutout, this time at the expense of their own C team.With Poole having missed the early season action there were doubts as to whether he could raise his game for the always competitive clash against his son Rob. However, to prove there is no substitute for experience, it was father who demonstrated the greater consistency winning in four games. Although Rob did also manage to take a single game from both Stephen Foster and Gary Stewart it wasn't enough to prevent each of the seniors completing trebles whilst still leave themselves sufficient time to enjoy celebratory drinks before last orders.
