Blazing Paddles were on fire when inflicting the first defeat of the season upon league leaders JLM Hussars. Nello Mauri led the way with a treble, while Chris Dickens earned a brace and Wilf Chan their crucial sixth point. The match began with the clash between the two captains where, in the only game to go the full distance, Mauri overturned an initial deficit to overcome Kevin Taylor. However this success was quickly reversed as Michael Klein and Chris Dyson gave Hussars a 2-1 lead before  Paddles took the honours with a five game winning streak. Although Taylor claimed the final singles, and added the doubles in partnership with Klein, the night belonged to Paddles who triumphed 6-4.

Shottery A are now tied with Hussars at the top of the table after Gary Stewart, Stephen Foster and Graham Poole inflicted the whitewash upon Veterans with the loss of only a single set.

Just one point behind are Snitterfield who trailed 1-3 at Colebridge Pasties until turning the tide to claim the remaining six encounters. Alan Cotton won his three games without reply, with Clive Irwin earning two victories and the pair also enjoying doubles success. John Price narrowly lost the match's only five set contest but recovered to add to Snitterfield's haul. Pasties gave a first outing to 12 year old Nathaniel Saunders and he produced a performance of considerable promise which brought two wins, with Mike Credland providing their third.

Henley B claimed local bragging rights by gaining a 9-1 win over their own A team. Andy Rowland and debutant Martin Clayton were both undefeated, while Robert McCluskey added a brace although he was unable to overcome Nigel Payne who thereby gained the senior side's only consolation. However the result could have been much closer had fortune been with Henley A in the three contests to be settled in the fifth set. Payne took early leads against both Rowland and Clayton before falling at the final hurdle, while Dave Hatcher levelled a two set deficit only to lose to Clayton in the decider.

JLM Cavaliers also won 9-1 against Ashorne. Steve Cull and Dave Bevington were untroubled, whilst Joe Cull won their other two points although, in the only game to go down to the wire, he narrowly lost out to Roger Pye.

Honours were even when Tanworth Taipans entertained Colebridge Bulldogs. Jason Rainey and Darius Mrowinski each recorded braces for the hosts, but couldn’t overcome Dean Hicks who produced a treble for Bulldogs with Mahroof Hussein and Chris Welsh adding their other scores.
