It was a quiet week for the Spalding and District League which was scheduled for the Guardian Cup second round.
Underdogs faced MatDuf and a likely heavy handicap but got off to a slow start reaching 2-11 in the first game before fighting back.
In the end, as expected, Underdogs took all four games for 132 to MatDuf’s 39.
The added handicap was 86 carrying Underdogs through by 7.
The second match saw Nets and Edges facing an improving Castle Sports pair.
The Edgers scraped one game and lost another which left the score at 122-96.
An added 36 for Castle gave them the tie by ten.
Three unfinished Division 1 matches were also played, with two reaching a conclusion.
Nets n Edges completed their match with JDM which the latter were leading 1-0.
The remaining four games were all concluded in three ends, all going to JDM, leaving them 5 – 0 winners.
Aches and Pains, trailing to two Keith Davey wins, played the other singles against Adrian Dinvlescu and the doubles.
All three went to Outsiders for a 5 – 0 win putting them within a point of fifth place.
Dinvlescu also played a singles against Jokers which he won in three, levelling the scores at 1-1.
In Division 2 Pottermus Clarets and MatDuf had a busy time playing nine games across two matches.
One was continued from the previous week and the other brought forward from April.
Clarets took both with 0 – 0 victories which means Clarets now lead the table by 20 and 23 points, though have three and five more matches.
With tonight’s (Tues) list showing just Division 2 matches it is hoped that some of the fourteen matches unplayed or unfinished might be moved on.
