For the match secretary the Spalding and District League’s latest night proved somewhat of a mixed blessing.
Seven matches were scheduled across the two divisions and nine were played including a cup match.
However only three of those were completed, another was postponed and for another there is no information at all.
In Division 1 Jokers replace Moulton S E at the top, on alphabetical order.
Jokers faced The Underdogs and came away with a 4 – 1 victory.
Sasha Martin won another double while Guntars Briedes added a third with the doubles going their way too.
Kelvin Preville scored for the losers.
Meanwhile Moulton were going down to their first defeat of the season at the hands of South Holland.
Holland’s John Gilbert took two wins over eight ends with a mixed set of scores, while Stephen and Andrew Appleby scored a win each.
The doubles, as often happens settled the match - in Holland’s favour.
Both Moulton and Jokers have unfinished matches with the former favourites to gain most; South Holland are a point behind the two.
Underdogs are third and have been joined by Bladerunners on the same points but are fourth on countback.
Blades’ Dave and James Gibson won four points across two unfinished matches against Outsiders and Nets n Edges, both of whom only had one player available.
Outsiders’ Keith Davey pushed Dave to a fifth, while the Netters’ Reece Kerry did the same and pushed James over four games with two deuces.
However Davey picked up two points in his scheduled match with Aches and Pains, winning in four close games and three.
In Division 2 Pottermus Clarets completed their match with 200 up, Peter Chester taking the two remaining games in four and five ends for a 4 – 1 win.
200 up started their match with Hurricane Brothers, losing a singles each to George, who came from behind to win, and Sam Wallis, but picking up the doubles.
Hurricanes also took a 2 – 0 lead over MatDuf who only had one player available.
Finally Jokers began their delayed Moulton Shield round 2 match with Underdogs sharing the spoils from the two games played.
