Refugee Tournament

Message from Dave Bradley:

"Hi Roger,

I'm writing to you as Secretary for Southport TT League. I play as a reserve for Holy Trinity and you may recall running across each other occasionally over the years.

My main involvement is in Liverpool League running a team called St. Anne's for the past 5 years. This team represents Asylum Link Merseyside and specialises in asylum seekers and refugees.

On Sat July 14th there will be a tournament at Anfield Sports Centre, Lower Breck Road, Liverpool from 1.00 to 4.00 pm. We are welcoming a minibus full of players from Brighton TTC. Brighton is another club which specialises in asylum seekers and refugees. There is a possibility a few others from Cardiff will join us. The tournament is for asylum seekers, refugees, their friends and perhaps a few others who are simply interested to join in. The group coming from Brighton will probably be 50%ish asylum seekers.

The aim is to have a doubles competition in which the pairs will be evened out for ability as much as possible, giving everyone of any standard a chance.

Is there any chance you could publicise this?  If there is anyone in Southport League who might be interested I'd be glad to hear from them. The event is free to enter.

All the best
Dave Bradley
