WINTER LEAGUE 15-16 WEEK 20 REPORT

Division 1

Hockley A stretched their lead to 10 points to lead the table with a fine 6-3 win over Lentern E. In a game where no-one was unbeaten, Hockley put in a team performance with Tim Pang, Alan Tideswill and Dave Colwill all scoring two points. Mark Jupe did well scoring two for Lentern.

Customs A lost for only the second time this season, 5-4 against Rawreth E who had Chris Nunn returning for the first time since October. Roy Thomas scored a hattrick, but with Chris Nunn and Gary McCarthy scoring two each for the Rawreth team it gave them victory, Colin Clements adding the extra point.

Hullbridge C returned to winning form with a 9-0 rout against Lentern D, with Matt Rolfe playing up from Division 2 and ending up unbeaten, along with Andy Seaman and Bill Smith, to find themselves only 6 points behind Customs with a game in hand.

Two man Hadleigh Forum B had their wings clipped by Warehouse B, going down 6-3. Tony Jacks put up a brave defense winning two games for Hadleigh and Dave Woolmer one, but forfeiting for the extra man was costly.

Hadleigh Forum C returned to winning ways after two losses to a fine 7-2 win over Canvey A. Russell Bright with three, supported by Mark Everard and Tony Mace with two each were enough for the win, with Terry Giddens scoring the two consolation points for Canvey.

In the final game this week, Lentern C also returned to winning ways, after a run of 6 games without a win, taking the match against Hockley B by 6-3. Mike Grout was unplayable on the night and supported by Les Tayler with two. Everyone else in the match managed to score one win.
