This year has seen the largest entry for some 20 Years, 132, which, whilst extremely satisfying, does present us with problems in fitting everything in, to do our best to enable you all to enjoy the Weekend; so please bear with the changes we have had to make to the Events. Another very pleasing thing is that we have 26 juniors entering, who have all played in our League – much credit to both the Rawreth Juniors and Hullbridge Table Tennis Clubs. The key factors of our Championships, that the Sub Committee aim at, are 1) good competition, 2) plenty of games for everyone and above all 3) a good atmosphere for you all to enjoy the Social side of our League.

As per the 2013 AGM, we are running the main events in one venue over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, namely the Rayleigh Leisure Centre, Rawreth Lane, behind Asda.. This, along with the increase in entry, has meant the timings of the Tournament are tight and have been closely worked out to . Knocking time on the table will be a maximum of two minutes to be fair to all. The Timings have been worked out to enable us to get all the games in. However, in order to do this, we have had to postpone the Vets Doubles, which will hopefully be played later on after the Winter Season ends, on a Saturday at Hullbridge. The date will be advised on the Web.

Friday’s Timings

Vet’s Singles Commencing 6.15 pm and the Estimated finish is 10.00 pm.

This Event will be in Groups of 3 players, with both the Winner and Runner up going through to the next round.

The 3rd place Player will go into a Plate Singles, which looks like it will be a good standard: so everyone will get at least 3 matches: the stars a few more !!

After the Groups, it will be a straight knockout.

Without the Doubles, we feel that there is every likelihood that the event will reach the Final stage during the Friday evening; if not, then the last few matches will be concluded on the Sunday 23rd Feb.

The Final will be played on our Finals Night, which will be on Tuesday 25th at Hullbridge

Morning. Premier and 1^st Divisions’ Events, commencing as soon as possible after 8.30

2) 1^st Division Restricted Singles 9.00

4) Individual Handicap Singles – Premier & 1^st Divisions combined. 11.40
