‘ Falcons welcomed the Denbury Tykes to Teign school, securing  a welcome home victory. However, the score did not reflect some of the excellent table tennis played by the visitors. Huw Darch, in particular, secured the result of the night defeating Chris Jacob with a fine display of powerful forehand and backhand strokes. Pat took a game off Chris Jacob with some fine backhand winners and played a tight five set match to defeat Chris Baron. The match order, as agreed at the outset remained flexible, to accommodate the delayed arrival of Paul Hine, but this did not detract from an enjoyable evening of table tennis. Paul, having travelled direct to the venue, did well to play some good table tennis beating Chris Baron in five and narrowly losing a five set contest against Jeremy Broad.

 

It is important to highlight the high level of sportsmanship, displayed by Pat, Huw and Paul through out the match.  They were also very gracious in defeat after suffering a 7-3 loss.  Thank you gentlemen and hope the results reflect your performances for the rest of the season.’
