Don Mills

Only a few of our, long time, older members will remember Don Mills who passed away last week.  Don owned the forge at Cockington where his team played in what was the tea room in the summer. Not one of the best venues, Dennis Gibbs remembers, he recalls a cup match going on beyond midnight against Don’s team there. Don was an out and out defender in the hard bat era, who was men’s singles champion in 1965-66, men’s doubles in 1964-65 and league champions with the Drum Majors.

Don’s funeral is at 11:00 on Mon 11th Feb in Cockington Church.
