An epic Challenge Cup Final eventually won in the final game of the final set by Torbay Academy 1.   When player of the match, Helen Glover, put Marldon in the lead for the first time with a fine win over previously undefeated Patrik Cincala, it looked like an upset was on the cards.  However, Grzeg Wojtowicz’s victory over Nigel Goodman levelled the match at 4-4. The final tense set saw David Atkin narrowly beaten by Dan Barnett, which meant that Torbay Academy 1 lifted the Challenge Cup for the 4^th time in the last 5 years.
