Excellent wins for the top two in the First Division against potentially tricky opponents.  Leaders Torbay Academy 1 saw off third place NA Batmen 8-2; Patrik Cincala’s 5^th set 12-10 & 13-11 wins over Nick Halse & Dennis Gibbs respectively helping the Academy side to their big win.  Second-placed Brixham Sharks’ 9-1 win at Halwell closes the gap at the top slightly. Torbay Academy II looked odds-on to collect their first win of the season going into a 4-1 lead against the Buzzards of Newton Abbot, but the Buzzards, with Kelvin Cheung unbeaten, fought back to claim a draw. Brixham Trawlers went down 6-4 despite a maximum from Clive Banham against the club’s Gulls side.

Battlers, having caught up with their fixtures, go well clear at the top of the 2^nd Division following their 9-1 win over bottom side Marldon Tykes and a whitewash over Brixham Swallows. Taverners suffered their 3^rd defeat of the season going down 6-4 to Torbay Academy III, who are closing in on the top three. Helen Glover won all her 3 sets in the all-Marldon clash, the Tykes going down 7-3 to stablemates Marldon.  In a close, all-Brixham clash, between the Pirates and Imports, the Pirates squeezed home 6-4, thanks to a Ben Deakin maximum.

Leaders of the Third Division, Denbury Tykes, were too strong for the Hasbeens, winning 9-1 to extend their lead at the top.  Brixham Panthers collected only their 2^nd win of the season defeating stablemates Rebels 7-3, Kevin Salt with a maximum for the Panthers. However, Panthers didn’t fare so well against 2^nd placed Dawlish Diamonds, as, with a Panthers player short, they went down 9-1.  Torre Warriors’ whitewash over bottom side Brixham Swifts move them into 3^rd spot

Result of the week has to be NA Falcons 8-2 victory over Torbay Academy IV who led the 4^th division for most of the first half of the season. The Falcons reversed a 3-7 defeat at Teign School earlier in the season to inflict a first defeat on the Academy side and go top of the fourth division. Lee Passmore & Bernard Bretagne got maximums for the Falcons. Torbay Academy V were too strong for NA Kestrels, defeating them 8-2.
